Business insurance for small and medium businesses
Business insurance is a set of covers chosen to fit your company: assets (buildings, contents, stock, equipment), public liability if someone is hurt or their property damaged, professional indemnity for advice you give, business interruption for lost income after a disaster, vehicles and fleet, employer's liability, cyber and goods in transit. Brokers assemble the package and price it on your industry, turnover and claims history. Updated September 2026.
Who it suits
Any registered business with premises, stock, staff, vehicles or clients who could sue. A one-person consultancy needs professional indemnity; a shop needs stock and public liability; a transport business needs fleet and goods in transit. The renewal date is the natural time to review, and the form asks when yours falls. Business requests go to licensed commercial brokers, who do the fact-find, so we ask less on the form than for personal cover.
